Building on Book 1, the second book teaches consonant blends at the start(initial), and end(final), of words and also includes a section on digraphs, i.e. two letter sounds such as sh in wish, and trigraphs, i.e. three letter sounds such as tch in catch. The sounds are provided on the accompanying drill cards which are used by students to practice recognising them.
